As we had hoped, our Letter of Invitation (LOI) from the Kazakhstan government finally came through last week, and we were given the green light to buy our plane tickets! Everything seems to be moving so fast! In the midst of the trip preparations we are also bracing ourselves for the ice storm that should be hitting our area tonight and tomorrow - not your typical Houston weather. We only hope the FedEx plane with our passports and visa applications headed for the Kazakhstan Cansulate in NYC makes it out of Houston before the bad weather hits! We're also praying they come back to us in time for us to fly out next Monday afternoon. Wow - to think we'll be on a plane that's Kazakhstan-bound in a week!
Last Friday afternoon my co-worker and friend, Suzanne, threw me a baby shower at work (HNI). It was great - big thanks to all who attended! Now we actually have clothes to bring for the little guy! So, we're doing more laundry and trying to get everything to fit into our luggage. As for the baggage weight, I really don't think we can keep from going over limit, but we'll see!
