(Maureen's Post)

Today was another nice day in Karaganda - a tiny bit cooler, even! Supposedly over the next couple of days a front will be coming through, dropping the temperatures considerably, with low temps in the 40s and the highs in the 60s (F). Again, I'm very glad we packed a range of clothing to bring with us!

With today being Sunday we only had one visit with Michael, so we made the best of it! He crawled around a lot, and we also went outside. We also put him in the communal playpen in the Group 4 playroom, and he promptly stood up in it, snatching toys from the younger babies that were in there. A couple of weeks ago a few babies moved out of our group and on to Group 5, and we received an influx of new babies from Group 3 into our group. Now, Michael and Lucas (Deb and Jeremy's baby) are the two oldest babies in Group 4.

Speaking of Group 5, Cindy and Tony's little girl, Neveya, turned one year old today! They threw a little celebration in her group's playroom towards the end of the morning visit, complete with homemade chocolate chip cookies that Cindy made, tea and juice, and baby biscuits for the wee ones. All the kids in the group were in walkers - quite different than our room which only a few babies are in walkers and most are still crawling. It was actually pretty funny as the kids in that group were all scooting around in the one room, and when I'm in there I usually feel like I'm standing in the middle of a bumper car ride at an amusement park. You really have to watch that your feet don't get run over by the kids!

The rest of the day was spent running errands and taking another trip to the park. Nothing more exciting, I'm afraid! So, with that we'll close out today's post with pictures. Enjoy!
