(Sean's Post)

Finally, my turn for a post! Today was yet another fun day in Karaganda. The morning visit went well. We mostly just let Michael explore via crawling and pulling himself up on things. I really want him to strengthen those leg muscles. He was so focused we didn't want to go outside today. Today, James decided that he wanted to hold Michael, too. It was pretty funny since James didn't realize just how quickly Michael likes to get away when he feels like moving. James tried to hold him back and it just digressed into what looked like a wrestling match. Too funny.

Before I get too far along in the post, if your name is Brody Powers, this is for you:

Happy Birthday, Brody!!!  Enjoy your day!
Love, Uncle Sean, Aunt Maureen, James, and Michael

We went back to the Cosmonaut Hotel for lunch. I sure love the mixed meat plate - beef, chicken, and lamb for just over ten bucks - who wouldn't? James was a little funny at lunch. He wanted to drink apple juice but once he saw our Fanta, he announced he wanted to drink that, too. I didn't think he was serious, but he was. He ended up drinking them both - good thing Maureen and I weren't very thirsty.

I had the afternoon visit today. Believe it or not, Michael kept his socks on during his nap. I came in and he was still sound asleep. I couldn't resist taking a few extra sleeping baby shots. He's just too cute when he sleeps.

I fed Michael his usual dish of potatoes with meat and a bottle of juice for lunch, and then he continued the crawling and standing workout from this morning. He has an interesting way of sitting. He only keeps one leg out in front of him. The other is behind him - like he's doing a half-split. It has a great advantage in that it takes microseconds for him to transition from sitting to being back on the move in a crawl. He's ready to go at a whim or whenever another baby goes by with a toy he thinks he can steal away. If he ever decided to play hockey and became a goalie he'd have it made.

Jeremy from Ontario (Lucas' daddy) was teasing Michael today. Michael was crawling towards a toy and Jeremy was using his foot to slide it away from Michael. Michael was persistent, though. He followed that toy for two trips around the large area rug which covers most of the floor in the playroom before getting distracted by something else. Great focus for such a little guy!
Enjoy today's pictures!

That's it for today! Paka paka !
